Knit for a cause this summer

With temperatures finally reaching a point we can only describe as HOT, it’s starting to feel like summer at last. Longer days and more spare time means only one thing: more time to knit! And what better way to spend your time than to help knit for a cause?

caron-knit-june-patternCaron United is still seeking blanket squares for its World’s Biggest Stocking project. Remember, we’re helping knit the stocking one blanket square at a time, with the final product being unveiled around the holidays.

For every skein of Caron United yarn purchased to help make the stocking, fifteen cents goes to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which helps provide college educations to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. We’re helping to break a world record while also helping children in need, and we can’t do it without you!

Here’s how it works:

  1. We’ve been releasing a new blanket square pattern every month on Knitting Daily to keep you occupied until the holiday season! Check out the latest here and here.
  2. Download the pattern instructions and purchase your Caron United yarn! Shop at Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michael’s, Walmart, or
  3. Get started on your 3-by-3-foot blanket square, and have fun!
