Kathleen’s Favorites on the Web: The Yarn Harlot
I signed up for Sock Summit last week, and I'm so excited! I went to the Summit in 2009, right after I started Knitting Daily, and it was overwhelming but so much fun, and I didn't even take any classes!
This year a friend and I signed up for classes so we'll get the full experience: sock knitting, knitting socks, learning about socks, how to knit socks, and more about socks!
All of the excitement surrounding the registration for Sock Summit made me think of the organizers of this great event: Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (a.k.a. The Yarn Harlot, and Tina Newton of Blue Mood Fiber Arts). They've done such a wonderful job with the lineup of the Summit; there's really something for everyone.
If you haven't checked out Stephanie's blog, The Yarn Harlot, you really should. It's a dose of humor and deep thoughts about knitting and lots of other stuff, and it's the perfect way to start your day. Stephanie has a really special way of looking at the world: with a mix of humor and humility that's hard to find these days.
Take some time this weekend to check out The Yarn Harlot, and if you're going to Sock Summit, leave her a comment about how well registration went. It was smooth as butter!
And while you're at it, take a gander at Blue Moon Fiber Arts as well. Say hi to one of my favorite yarns, Twisted. It's the best.
