Mary Jane Mucklestone

Mary Jane Mucklestone loves to knit, especially with color. She’s the author of 4 knitting books 3 exclusively featuring stranded colorwork. Her stitch dictionaries 200 Fair Isle Motifs and 150 Scandinavian Motifs, were instant classics and have been translated into many languages. Fair Isle Style is a contemporary take on colorwork featuring 20 projects from 18 designers. Her newest book Geo Knits:10 Lessons and projects for knitting stripes, chevrons, triangles, polka dots and more – gets back to her knitting roots, when the craft was new to her and she approached it through the shape of things! She’s currently at work on a super fun colorwork project. Mary Jane travels the world to study traditional knitting techniques and to learn more about the history of the craft. She’s a popular teacher specializing in lively, fun and informative classes. She feels lucky to be invited to teach all over the world, and is eager to share knitting knowledge with her students. She aims to give students the courage to try something new!

Beatrice Perron Dahlen
When Beatrice moved to Maine she found her home in more ways than one. A Navy brat through and through, she bought a house and put down roots. Discovering the inspiring and thriving fiber community of Maine she often thought about how wonderful it would be to see a collaboration between all the hand knitwear designers, yarn makers, dyers and wool-loving folk of Maine. Out of honoring the creative work each was doing, joining talents to make something extraordinary to offer up to the rest of the hand knitting community, she published the book that comes straight from the bottom of her heart; MAINE knits.

Beatrice is one of Maine’s most popular knitwear designers. In addition to self-publishing, she has published work with Pom Pom Magazine, Interweave Knits, knitscene, Berroco, Tolt Yarn & Wool, Quince & Co., Making Magazine, amirisu and more.  In 2017 she published her first book, MAINE knits.  Her independent pattern line, Thread & Ladle can be found on Ravelry or at her website, threadandladle.com.
