Interweave Knits Summer 2018: Flagstaff Tee
I don’t like being hot. I never have. It makes me super grumpy, which is not a state of being that I enjoy. So although I love summer because it means long days and gardens and drinks on the patio, I also kinda hate it because it means I’m going to be hot, like, 75% of the time. When those 90-degree days roll around, I plan my outfits carefully to make sure I’m wearing the most lightweight, breathable garments possible. The Flagstaff Tee from Interweave Knits Summer 2018 is exactly the kind of top I love! It’s lovely and lightweight and absolutely perfect for summer.
If you also hate being hot—or if you just like beautiful knit tops—you need the Flagstaff Tee! The simple two-piece construction means you can easily customize it for both fit and length, so you can make it longer and looser or shorter and tighter or any combination in between. Designer Susanna IC used lightweight and oh-so-soft Cascade Yarns Heritage Silk, a breathable wool-silk blend in a gorgeous cornflower blue evokes bright summer skies and fields of wildflowers.
Worked in two identical pieces from the top down, this tee knits up quickly, so you’ll have it done in time for the dog days of summer. The lace panels in front and back add a delicate touch, but don’t be fooled—the Flagstaff Tee can definitely stand up to your summer adventures! Try it over a light dress on cooler days or on its own on those boiling hot summer days; I promise it will keep you cool no matter what the thermometer says. And be sure to check out the rest of the projects in the High Desert Lace story from Knits Summer 2018 to round out your summer wardrobe!
