Pattern of the Week: Herring Cove Wrap
Interweave Knits Fall 2018 has many of us on the Interweave team craving cozy autumn cables. It is the cable issue, after all. And make no mistake, these projects will take your needles and your wardrobe to new heights.
The Herring Cove Wrap is no exception. Although the cables will require your attention, the wrap’s construction is simple—a basic rectangle, knitted flat from one short end to the other, with optional fringe. As exceptional in design as it is in versatility, it is one of 16 cable projects that make these pages sing.
A walk through the turning autumn foliage, an evening at the theater, an apple-picking festival that features a carousel ride: all would be appropriate events for the wearing of this wrap. Its large size will shut out autumn winds, but the striking cables elevate it from a simple oversized scarf to an elegant accessory suitable for a night out.
Where will you be seen in your Herring Cove Wrap? May I recommend the top of a Ferris wheel during an early, breezeless fall evening? You better get to making plans.
