Your Favorite Patterns from Interweave Knits Summer 2022

Argenteuil Top by Nadya Stallings from Interweave Knits Summer 2022
Let the Interweave Knits Winter 2024 issue transport you to a winter wonderland of cozy knits! This remarkable edition features 14 extraordinary projects to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of specially crafted yarns.

This past April we had a blast at Yarn Fest! And if you were able to attend, you were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the pieces featured in Interweave Knits Summer 2022. The 11 designs shown all had wonderful feedback, but it was the tops that really sparked some excitement. The praise for these four garments was so good, we just had to share more details.

Morisot Tee

Berthe Morisot was an impressionist painter in the nineteenth century. She is known for painting family domestic life, women, children, and flowers. The Morisot Tee, made by Susanna IC, wins for Most Complimented Garment at Yarn Fest. Attendees loved the lace panel going down the back combined with the accents along the side body and armholes. Purl Soho’s Sweetgrass yarn is available in six beautiful natural shades that will make it the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe.

Argenteuil Top

In the nineteenth century, the landscapes of the Argenteuil commune outside Paris, France inspired countless artists with its scenic views of the river, bridges, and gardens. As beautiful as its namesake, the Argenteuil Top, by Nadya Stallings, caught the eyes of many Yarn Fest students. Worked in reverse stockinette, the front panel is simple and unassuming while the back panel tells another story. Knit with luxurious Plymouth Yarn Cuzco Cashmere, the back is highly detailed with traveling stitches and openwork.

Morellet Top knitting pattern by Lana Jois

Morellet Top

Inspired by French abstract artist François Morellet, the Morellet Top, designed by Lana Jois, is a work of art you can wear. And the method of knitting is just as captivating as the op art that inspired it. The two pieces of this clever design are worked from the center of the square motif out to the edges. And the simple ribbed neckline and shoulders allow the garment to beautifully drape the upper body. Plus, this yarn gives back! A percentage of proceeds from the purchase of Brooklyn Tweed’s Dapple benefits National Black Farmer’s Association.

Retinal Tee

Perhaps my favorite pattern in this issue, the Retinal Tee, designed by Blazenka Simic-Boro, is a project that plays with your senses. The varying stripe sizes and alternating hues play tricks on the eyes. As the people at Yarn Fest learned, the Ecopuno yarn also teases our touch as well thanks to its blend of cotton, Merino wool, and baby alpaca. The yarn is lightweight and soft, making it perfect for warmer weather.

These are only four of the 11 stunning pieces we shared at Yarn Fest. We cannot wait to see these projects fly off your needles! Be sure to tag @interweavecraft on social media so we can see your WIPs and finished projects from Interweave Knits Summer 22.

Happy knitting!
