Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

My dad in about 1949. Our love of spaniels started early!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! My did lives here in Spokane, and we’re planning a delicious lunch at one of our favorite restaurants.

Both of my parents are from Southern California, and my whole family loves Mexican food, so Dad and I normally go to Mexican restaurants. We’re lucky to have several good ones here in Spokane, and we’ve tried them all! We regularly retry our favorites, just to make sure they’re still good. 😉 That’s the plan for today.

I always get my dad books for Father’s Day, and I knit him a hat every year, too. He like simple beanies knit from super chunky wool at a tight gauge, and he’s always asking for them to be LONGER—”I really need them to cover my ears, Kath!” Just how big are you ears, Dad?!? I make them pretty long at this point.

What are you and your dad doing today? And did you knit him anything for his special day?

I put together a pattern collection for dads, We Love Dad, a group of 7 wonderful patterns for you to knit for your dad, or any guy in your life! I think I’m going to knit the Frost Hat for my dad for Christmas this year. (And make it l-o-n-g-e-r . . .)

Guys who knit will like this, too. Check out the great patterns!
