Easy Knitting Patterns: Take a Hat and Sweater Class!
Do you want to move on from scarves to sweaters and hats? Take that next step with us in our knitting Power Session, Knit a Waffle Stitch Hat and Raglan Sweater! Class starts on November 16th and ends on November 30th.
You’ll work on two projects in this class, the Waffle Stitch Hat and the Everyday Raglan Sweater. The skills you’ll learn will stretch your knitting knowledge and confidence. Here are some of the things you’ll study as you work on these easy knitting patterns:
- Increasing and decreasing: Discover the M1P and PFB increases
- The Waffle Stitch: An attractive and stretchy type of ribbing
- Knitting in the Round: Learn how to use circular needles and double-pointed needles
- Mattress stitch: Finish your knits with an invisible seam
- Gauge: Learn to get gauge in the round
- Top-Down Knitting: How to knit a sweater in one piece, from the neck down
- Necklines: Learn to pick up stitches
- Blocking: How to beautifully finish your knitting
Your instructor, Davina Choy (founder of Sheep & Stitch), will teach you all of these things, and guide you on your way when the class is over. Class instruction includes videos and instructor interaction; you can ask questions and share photos of your progress with Davina and your classmates.
The great thing about our Power Sessions is that you can access them anytime, anywhere, with your computer, tablet, or even your phone! Interactive content is designed for a proven learning experience. And since there’s no set class time, you can attend class whenever it fits into your schedule. You’ll have access to the course materials indefinitely, so you can refer back to them as needed.
The hat and sweater patterns are included in the class fee, and we’re even supplying a child’s size Waffle Hat pattern, so you can make a whole bunch of these cute hats for Christmas gifts!
The Everyday Raglan is just that, perfect for every-day wear. This is the perfect first sweater knitting project; it’s knit in one piece, which means no seaming, and you’ll be able to try on the Everyday Raglan as you knit it up. The sizing goes from 28″ bust to 54″ bust, so there’s a size here for just about anyone.
Challenge yourself with this class; you’ll never leave scarves behind completely—you can wear them with your new hat and sweater. These easy knitting patterns are the perfect start to a new phase in knitting.
