Description
These mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up using the main color. The linings are worked separately with the contrast color, then they are inserted into the mtitens and sewn into place.
Finished Size: 7″ hand circumference and 10 1/2″ long.
Yarn: Quince & Co. Chickadee (100% American wool; 181 yd [166 m]/1 3/4 oz [50 g]): #155 caspian (MC), 2 skeins. Quince & Co. Piper (50% Texas super kid mohair, 50% Texas superfine merino; 305 yd [279 m]/1 3/4 oz [50 g]): caracara (CC), 1 skein.
Needles: Sizes 2 (2.75 mm) and 4 (3.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 26 sts and 40 rnds = 4″ in St st with MC on larger needles; 33 sts and 40 rnds = 4″ in St st with CC on smaller needles.
