Pattern of the Week: Sigríður Pullover

The hard thing about The Art of Circular Yokes is, there are so many beautiful projects, it is difficult to choose which to feature for a Pattern of the Week. The projects in this book hold individual charm in spades, with each design possessing an alluring detail that makes it special. For the Sigríður, it is the Fair Isle motif that catches the eye, along with the relaxed fit and pocket accents.

Sigríður is a circular yoke sweater with a boxy shape; the body has lots of positive ease while the sleeves are more fitted. The cuff detail echoes the colorwork in the yoke. The back neck and lower back are shaped with short-rows so the garment will fit comfortably.

Shown in The Uncommon Thread Polworth DK superwash, the color choices that are featured are hard to argue. With names like “naval officer” and “golden praline”, how can a knitter go wrong? This beautiful shade of blue paired with the golden yellow is a hue-filled song, seemingly written just for Sigríður.
