Aurelia Cowl Kits are here!

I’m so excited to tell you all that the Aurelia Cowl Kits are now in the store! The Aurelia Cowl from Knitscene Spring 2015 is a cool combination of shawl and cowl—it starts like a shawl, worked back and forth, and then is joined in the round to form a cowl that has all the drapy form of a triangular shawl with none of the “oh my stars why will you not stay on my neck despite all these knots?!”

Oh, you’re going to tell me you don’t talk to your knits, huh?

Hilary Smith Callis used a simple lace pattern with the TSC Artyarns Tranquility Glitter to knit up this sample. One of the benefits of working in the office is that I get to borrow samples for quick photos.

This is not the face of someone plotting to hold onto this sample. Oh no.

This yarn is so incredibly soft, with just the slightest halo, thanks to the cashmere and silk content, and has just a slight hint of sparkle—nothing too overwhelming. The color is a little tricky to photograph: it looks really yellow in the magazine, but then it’s also not quite as orangey as it looks in my photo above. It’s definitely a great burnished gold color. For a limited time, we have kits available for sale! The kit includes the knit cowl pattern in the magazine and the yarn to knit your own Aurelia cowl.

I’ve seen a couple of finished Aurelia Cowls out in the world and they’re all so fantastic! Have you knit one? Let me know!

(Hilary, I promise, you’ll get this back, but I “need” it today.)
