The Midnight Cap, by Sarah Solomon, checks all of my quick knitting pattern boxes. It’s fast, easy, unique, and a celebration of yarn! Check out knitscene Accents 2018 for more fast knitting patterns and exciting yarn selections!

This hat knit up so quickly I’m honestly missing working on it. I might just have to make one in another color as a gift! And I’d highly suggest you knit it if you’re looking for a fun project to distract from stressful holiday travel, awkward family conversations, or to give yourself some “me time.”

What Makes the Midnight Cap so Great:

1. The Cables

I am smitten with this modern cable motif! Sarah Solomon does it again with a striking cable that breathes new life into the traditional watch cap. The double brim keeps your ears cozy and warm and the cable pattern is easily memorized, making it a great travel project.

2. The Yarn

Harrisville Design’s Nightshades is a black yarn line you need to check out. The line contains 10 striking black yarns that let through a delicate shade of color, providing captivating depth to your projects. And this 3-ply American cormo wool-blend forms a lightweight DK weight yarn that knits into a beautiful fabric!

3. The Project Info

A modern take on the watch cap, it keeps the wind at bay. Fold the brim to the outside like a traditional watch cap or to the inside to reveal more of the cable motif.
