Wool Studio Volume X: Sleeve Envy

Who doesn’t love a good sleeve? Puffy sleeves, slender sleeves, three-quarter length sleeves. I am just a sucker for a beautifully made sleeve to cap off (no pun intended) a beautifully made sweater. And in Wool Studio Volume X there are a plethora of simply stunning sleeves.

To celebrate these delightful sleeves, I’ve pulled together three of my favorites from Wool Studio Volume X to share with you. The whole collection is truly gorgeous, but for sleeve envy, these are probably my favorites.

Ashlar Pullover

The Ashlar Pullover by designer Rachel Brockman, with its slightly-angled armholes, is a modern take on the traditional drop shoulder. The boxy silhouette of this sweater is straightforward, and the allover texture on the body and sleeves makes this one of my favorites. But what really makes the sleeves work in such harmony with the rest of the pullover are the pops of contrasting color along the cuffs and shoulder seams, echoing the color along the hem and neckline.

Hexad Peaks Cardigan

This cardigan! I was swooning when I first saw the Hexad Peaks Cardigan by designer Yiǧitcan Vatansever, even more so when I saw the sleeves. Another drop shoulder, but there is zero shaping to be found here. Instead, these sleeves are allowed to billow out, hitting at a three-quarter length, for an airy, elegant look. There’s a lot to love with this design, but the sleeves might be my favorite part.

Decussate Pullover

There is something incredibly comfortable looking about the Decussate Pullover by Evelyn Siatra. The cropped length is balanced by the gorgeous, cozy dolman sleeves. Ribbing at the cuffs helps pull the sleeves tight around the wrists, accentuating the tapered nature of the sleeve and echoing the high, split collar.

There is a lot to love in Wool Studio Volume X, and I didn’t even mention half of the patterns! The raglan shaping on the circular yoke of the Shoji Sweater, for example, or the modified drop sleeves of the Barbican Cardigan.
