   Hi. I have not been able to submit to the KAL forum so here my update. I started in early April but haven’t had much time. I used my yarn stash. At first I chose a grey blue, white and speckled yarn from beige to brown to light grey/blue and darker blue but the solid and speckled together didn’t work very well after the star st, so I swapped to brown.

   I’m starting the KAL today! Hopefully I can finish by the end of the month I found 2 kinds of yarns I purchased when I went back to Japan last summer. Hopefully it’ll turnout time be beautiful!

   I’m not in a position to buy more yarn right now, but I was wondering if it was possible to do this shawl with DK weight rather than sport weight? I have several skeins of Mineville Wool Project Merino DK that I could use. Please let me know!

      Hey Maria!
      Using yarn from your stash is a great idea! If you use DK-weight instead of the recommended yarn, your gauge will likely change. Not a bad thing! It just means your shawl may be a different size and use a different amount of yarn than the pattern suggests. If you’re comfortable with substitutions like this, I say go for it.
