Interweave’s 2018 Knitting Books Year in Review

Let the Interweave Knits Winter 2024 issue transport you to a winter wonderland of cozy knits! This remarkable edition features 14 extraordinary projects to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of specially crafted yarns.

Oh how I love an old-fashioned year-in-review post. Don’t you? I know a lot of people who have a terrible habit of hating on the year that was and rushing in the new one. You won’t hear me saying “good riddance, 2018.” Instead, I like to reflect on the positives before toasting the year farewell. When it comes to the work we do here day-to-day, we have a whole lot to feel good about when it comes to the knitting books we published.

So, without further ado, here is Interweave’s 2018 Knitting Books Year in Review!

Wool Studio

Our popular digital magazine was given new life in physical form with the release of Wool Studio the book. This hardcover edition combines Wool Studio Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a must-have collection of 21 capsule wardrobe enhancing patterns.

Knitting Ganseys Revised & Updated

2018 also saw the 25th anniversary release of Beth Brown-Reinsel’s Knitting Ganseys Revised & Updated. If you have the original on your shelf, don’t let that stop you from getting a new copy. This beloved classic received a facelift in the form of new, full-color photos, new patterns, and added technique information.

100 Knits

This BIG book of knitting patterns is the first “best-of” collection to be released in more than 10 years. 100 Knits is our ode to pattern lovers; we really don’t know what more you could ask for. It’s packed with hats, mittens, socks, cowls, shawls, wraps, pullovers, cardigans, tanks, and tees. Plus, you’ll find Interweave’s top 5 patterns of all time included as well.

The Knitter’s Dictionary

“The book no knitting bag should be without” isn’t just a marketing line. Kate Atherley’s The Knitter’s Dictionary puts a knitting instructor in the palm of your hands. Expert guidance when working a pattern is an invaluable resource you really shouldn’t be without!

Gradient Style

Color-shifting patterns are a trend we couldn’t ignore! In Gradient Style you’ll find our guide to fading colors, plus it boasts 19 original patterns. Whether you’re looking for a new shawl, hat, sweater, or socks, this one has a gorgeous array of colorful patterns.

Looking ahead to next year, we’re working on some exciting new titles we can’t wait to share. Keep your eyes peeled for books that explore community and caffeine, circular yoke design, knitting with plant-based fibers, and so much more.
