5 Animal-Baby Sweater Patterns for Your Little Animals

“Cute.” “Darling.” “Adorable.” All of these words are commonly used to describe babies and baby clothes, and why not? They are exactly that. But some are cuter than others, right? The patterns in Little Animals, for example. What is more delightful than a little piggy sweater or a kitty cat cardi? Just about nothing.

Many of my friends are having babies now, and these little cardis make perfect “welcome baby” gifts.

This little calico kitty pattern has pockets and ears in two different colors. Tiny whiskers and “splotches” are worked in duplicate stitch when the cardigan is finished. Cute overload, right?

The little zebra cardigan is simple to knit, worked in black and white stripes. Black pockets adorn the front (I realize babies don’t really need pockets but they’re so stinking cute!) and a black and white fringe “mane” adorns the hood.

Finally, there’s a cuddly little cow cardi. Black and white intarsia forms the body of the sweater, and the hood is topped with a light pink “nose.” Pink pockets are udderly delightful.

Each pattern comes in six sizes, ranging from 3 months up to toddler size (18¼” to 26¼”), and they’re all knit using Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash yarn for easy care.
