About Your Knitting Instructor

Instructor Norah Gaughan
Instructor Norah Gaughan

Norah Gaughan is the author of Wool Studio Vol. IV, Knitting Nature, and other books. Norah has spent her life immersed in knitting—as a freelancer for yarn companies and knitting magazines, as the design director at JCA (she oversaw the Reynolds, Artful Yarns & Adrienne Vittadini Yarn lines); and as the design director at Berroco for nearly nine years (where she headed up the design team and published sixteen eponymous booklets).

Now an independent designer working out of her studio in historic Harrisville, NH, Norah’s latest ventures include being a member of the Brooklyn Tweed design team. Her newest labor of love, Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook (Abrams) showcases the results of her 30-year spate of inventing new cable patterns.

Instructor Jennifer Berg

Jennifer Berg is a knitter, designer, and creator using a variety of textures living in New Mexico.  Jennifer is Navajo and grew up on the Navajo Reservation. She uses her background, culture and surrounding landscapes as inspiration for her designs. As she became obsessed with knitting over the years she felt naturally drawn to incorporating native designs into the patterns she creates. Jennifer shares her Navajo heritage through Native focused knitting designs that help you explore while honoring Native American artists. “Textiles are an integral part of the Navajo artistry and knitting felt like a way to share the beauty of my cultures designs”.  She is excited to share her love for knitting and hopes you will fall in love with it the same way she has.
