NZ Native Pohutukawa Lampwork Glass Focal Bead

This is a large focal lentil shaped bead featuring the New Zealand native Pohutukawa tree.

The Pōhutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa) is a NZ native coastal evergreen tree that is adorned with beautiful red flowers in the summer. It is also known as New Zealand's Christmas Tree. Renowned for its ability to survive perched on rocky, precarious cliffs, it has found an important place in New Zealand culture for its strength and beauty and is regarded as a chiefly tree (rākau rangatira) by Māori.

Dimensions: 38 mm round and 17 mm thick with a 2.5 mm hole. The hole runs from the top to bottom.

New Zealand native trees are my signature range of glass beads.  Each bead is unique and definitely one of a kind and features a detailed texturised tree against a landscape backdrop.  All my glass beads are kiln annealed for lasting strength and inspected for quality before being made available for purchase.
