Betsy – remember to keep a camera handy next to your bench. When you come up with a technique of your own that you know you will forget a month from now, take a picture of it. Take a couple pictures of it, step-by-step even. Like how you soldered a piece of casting shot between two 20-gauge wires.
Then, and this is important, print the photo out and put it in your design notebook. Because a photo is worth a thousand words.
