Memory Stone

I was inspired to post this after reading the recent article on Memento Stones. This was a pebble found on a beach in Newfoundland that I cut and set. On the reverse is a cutout shaped like a halibut, one of the overfished species in the region. We found a carcass of one that had been caught illegally on this beach. I have made many pieces from stones I have collected in my travels as well as set memento stones for other people. Some are used as found, some are cut.  These can be viewed on my website DeborahLaun.com and in my custom stone setting listing on esty (shop name DeborahLaun). I love using stones that are precious for personal reasons rather that market value, and enjoy the challenge of setting unusual shapes.
