Meet Jewelry Artist Podcast Host Katie Hacker

Katie Hacker learned how to make jewelry as a teenager when her favorite shop stopped selling clip earrings. As her bead collection grew, so did her jewelry-making skills. She has written numerous books about beading, created her own line of jewelry components, and learned metalsmithing from many top instructors. Katie is the Editor of Beadwork magazine and the Host of Beads, Baubles & Jewels. She loves connecting with people about all things jewelry, making her the ideal host for the Jewelry Artist podcast.

Katie was raised in the craft industry. Her parents owned the largest dollhouse and miniatures distributorship business in the world, and Katie grew up helping them. She started in publishing at a very young age, working on her parents’ 600+ page print catalog (!!) and then editing craft books after college. She is the author of many jewelry-making books, host of the PBS program Beads, Baubles & Jewels, was a contributor to Beadwork magazine for over 15 years before becoming Editor, and a consultant to many companies in the jewelry industry.
