Let the Interweave Knits Winter 2024 issue transport you to a winter wonderland of cozy knits! This remarkable edition features 14 extraordinary projects to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of specially crafted yarns.

After looking at the runway photos from designers for their Fall/Winter 2023 collections, there were a lot of jewelry pieces that stuck out to me. There were delicate pieces, but there were also beautiful pieces that the everyday person would not wear for functionality. Sometimes jewelry pieces are just meant to be art! I’ve selected five of some of the most popular, highly-wearable jewelry trends for fall 2023 that can be enjoyed by anyone.

Stars and Moon

Take inspiration from the stars and moon in your next jewelry project. This jewelry trend is a perfect alternative for those who are not into the coastal jewelry trend, though the two can be combined. I have seen this trend in necklaces and earrings. Starry jewelry can incorporate shining stones in the center of a star to emulate a star’s twinkle. Moons make perfect pendants and can be found in many phases, though the crescent shape is the most popular. This trend often is seen in gold, though silver would also make a stunning piece.

Antique Gold

Gold was the metal of the year last fall/winter season, and now it has evolved into antique gold. Traditional gold jewelry is still popular, but antique gold is more subtle and works well when combined with vintage or antique elements. Antique gold has a timeless feel to it and can be dressed up or down. For a piece that feels more “trendy,” make a simple chain necklace with antique gold pieces such as vintage charms.

Ringing in Metal Clay

Metal clay is seen everywhere in many different types of jewelry pieces, it is the metal clay rings that have risen most in popularity. These rings can have a more organic feel to them and are often combined with the texturized metal trend. Metal clay can be made into large cocktail rings with bright gemstones or can be more delicate in size. Adding gems give the ring extra shine and can make for a unique contrast if you choose to have a more rustic, textured metal ring.

Decorative Clasps

Clasps are no longer boring! When you think of a traditional necklace, the clasp tends to be in the back—but with this new trend, you’ll want to show off your crafted clasp. These clasps are most commonly found in chain necklaces. The necklace’s fasteners are in the front and can come in various shapes, such as ovals, circles, hearts, and more. This trend can also combine charms with the clasps for extra interest.

Larger Than Life

Chains have been a part of necklaces for ages, so it’s only fair that they also have a trend of their own. Large chains have become increasingly popular, especially oval link chains. Sometimes trends are all about simplicity, but this can be adapted to include several trends into one. These larger chains can be worn alone or can be combined with the decorative clasps and vintage charms to really lean into the trend. I have most often seen this trend with gold metal, but silver also makes for a beautiful look.

Jewelry trends do not change often, as jewelry tends to remain timeless, and pieces are made to last for generations. These trends are fun to try and can all be customized to fit your style. Combine trends for an eye-catching piece or make one for a more classic look that you can wear for years to come. These fall 2023 jewelry trends are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to jewelry. We hope you enjoy trying these trends out yourself!
