Free Projects Using Different Techniques
I love being able to share my passion for jewelry making with other makers, especially ones who are learning new-to-them jewelry-making techniques such as wirework, metal clay, chain maille, and even metalsmithing, including fun techniques like texturing, doming, and soldering metal, bezel making, and other metal fabrication techniques. Whatever the technique is, it’s usually easier than you think, and with good instruction, even less experienced jewelry makers can succeed.
Speaking of good instruction (and sharing!), I’m happy to offer you another free eBook, the Guide to Jewelry-Making Techniques: How to Make Jewelry with 5 Free Jewelry Projects. The five free jewelry-making projects in the eBook cover a range of techniques (chain maille, metal fabrication, soldering, fold forming and microfolding, die forming, stone setting, texturing, and wirework), materials (metal sheet, wire, metal clay, and gemstones), and types (bracelets, earrings, and pendants). There are also a variety of tips and technique tutorials to help you succeed at making jewelry scattered throughout the five free jewelry-making projects.
It’s a rewarding journey to learn how to make your own jewelry and wear it with pride or make it the most personal of gifts. Nothing expresses your own style and personality like a piece of original artisan jewelry that you designed and made yourself. And nothing is quite as satisfying as the act of making jewelry yourself: from selecting your materials, creating the design, and gathering your tools to the final polishing–and suddenly holding that beautiful, finished piece in your very own hands.
You’ll learn jewelry making techniques from chain maille, fold forming, microfolding, and die forming to stone setting—plus great technique tips on texturing. You’ll find jewelry that’s flexible, organic, geometric, and inspiring, so you can make it as shown or take what you learn to design jewelry that is uniquely yours!
