The holiday season is certainly a busy time of year. As a jewelry business owner, there are even more considerations to maximize this time of year. Here are four holiday marketing tips you can use to make the season more profitable and productive.
#1: Coupons and Promotions
Help encourage sales by planning strategic coupons and promotions to encourage customers to buy from you. The discount doesn’t have to be big but the gesture to your customers will be. Here are a few ideas:
- Add a coupon for a set period of time to encourage your customers to buy early
- Give away a free gift with purchase, something small, to those who buy from you on a set day
- Have daily deals: feature a different item each day to give favorite inventory items their time to shine
- Offer timed savings for anyone who purchases during a set time period during the day
Be sure to outline your plans ahead of time and coordinate any email and social media promotions around the offers to create additional buzz and excitement.
#2: Shipping Cutoff Dates
For anyone who has an online store, shipping is important. You want to be sure your customer receives their orders in a reasonable amount of time. During the holidays it’s especially important to pay attention to shipping dates; nothing is worse for a customer than to find the perfect gift online, and then realize that they won’t be able to get it in time.
So make your customer’s lives a bit easier by providing shipping information easily without them asking for it. Find the shipping cutoff dates online, and then be sure to update your customers with this information so they know when it’s too late to receive their gifts by the holiday.
#3: Extend your Season
The holidays keep creeping earlier and earlier each year which means you should plan to start earlier than you think. Don’t feel limited to December; November offers some great promotional options too. These include Small Business Saturday, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Decide how you want to position your brand around these days and leverage their name recognition to work for your advantage.
#4: SEO for the Holidays
Make sure you’re starting to think about your SEO and keyword strategy sooner rather than later. This means creating a specific landing page on your website that features rich phrases for those doing any searching for jewelry gifts. You can also optimize any products that are holiday-themed with the appropriate keywords and descriptions.
