Vintage Swan Pendant, by Betsy Lehndorff

Vintage Swan Pendant

If you’re looking for a more elegant project, the Vintage Swan Pendant by Betsy Lehndorff is right up your alley. The focal point of the pendant is an antique, hand-painted button. The accompanying pearl drop adds another touch of vintage elegance to the piece while complimenting the button perfectly. This necklace is made using soldering and stone setting techniques. This project can also showcase coins, gemstones, or just about anything you’d like to place within the bezel. This variety allows for a piece truly customized by you!

Everything's O.K. Found Steel and Turquoise Cuff, by Kit Carson

Everything’s O.K. Found Steel and Turquoise Cuff

One can never go wrong with a cuff, and the Everything’s O.K. Found Steel and Turquoise Cuff, designed by Kit Carson, is a great project to start in the new year. This cuff is made using recycled metal and features an eye-catching cabochon in the center. Turquoise is used in this project, but feel free to switch it up to one of your favorite stones. As Kit says, for this project “the process is simple, the materials are accessible, and everyone with a vise, a saw, a grinder, and a few hammers can pretty much do what I do. It’s how someone’s artistic temperament and sense of design come into play that’s important.”

Boho Bolo Necklace, by Francesca Watson

Boho Bolo Necklace

Bolo necklaces are becoming popular once again, and I couldn’t be more excited. Francesca Watson designed the Boho Bolo Necklace with sterling silver components and of course, an eye-catching stone as the centerpiece. For a more traditional take on the bolo necklace, Francesca uses an oval turquoise cabochon combined with silver that catches the eye, but feel free to use a stone of your own choosing. This project requires basic fabrication, soldering, and stone setting techniques. This is a fun project for anyone and looks great dressed up or dressed down.

In Orbit Pendant, by Mary Van der Aa

In Orbit Pendant

Sometimes a stone is all you need to get those creative gears going. The In Orbit Pendant by Mary Van der Aa, features a stone that truly speaks for itself. Mary explains, that the stone “took my breath away. Inspired by the intense, bright coloring and abstract pattern in this piece of mookaire jasper,” she was determined to make a piece that was exceptional to compliment the stone. She recommends using a stone that inspires you as well, as the outcome will be a piece you’ll be sure to cherish. Because the focal point is the stone, the metalsmith portion is relatively simple, requiring basic metalsmithing skills.

Hidden Catch Bracelet

Combining natural elements to create jewelry is one of my favorite techniques and something everyone in the jewelry making world should try at least once. The Hidden Catch Bracelet by Noël Yovovich, is made with sterling silver metal clay and that are pressed with wisteria leaves. The leaves are decorated with faceted stones that include rhodolite and hessonite garnets in a variety of sizes. In this project, Noël writes on do’s and don’ts, and even explains mistakes that she’d made and how you can learn from them. This informative project will enhance your skills with metal clay jewelry and will have a beautiful end-result.

There are many wonderful projects to add to your jewelry project list before the year ends. The Top 22 list has Interweave jewelry projects ranging from earrings to pendants and more. Why not try a new technique, or even a new project, like a bolo if you haven’t before? The wide array of choices seems endless, but we hope these five favorites of our own get you started!
