Beading Trend: Fantastic Florals

Fantastic Florals
Let the Interweave Knits Winter 2024 issue transport you to a winter wonderland of cozy knits! This remarkable edition features 14 extraordinary projects to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of specially crafted yarns.

I love translating fashion trends into beaded jewelry designs. Runway collections are often so over-the-top that it’s fun to take that inspiration and interpret it in beads. You can combine your favorite fashion style with a hot beading trend – jot your ideas down in a floral journal (affiliate link) for maximum creativity. Floral prints were big on the runways for Spring/Summer 2019 collections and I’m looking forward to seeing those floral fashions in stores soon! They promise that the snow will melt and there are sunny days ahead. In the meantime, here’s a bouquet of some of my favorite beaded floral patterns to inspire you.

Floral Wreath Bracelet by Amy Haftkowycz

Make Linked Floral Components
Flower components are linked together with large brass rings in this striking, on-trend design. Amy Haftkowycz designed this Floral Wreaths Bracelet using seed beads, crystals, pearls and pressed-glass beads with eye-catching metallic elements. Each flower component is a pretty little treasure separated by the negative space of the rings. Use the same technique to make coordinating earrings or a pendant.

Breezy Blossoms Bracelet by Valerie Felcett

Stitch Some Breezy Blossoms
The Breezy Blossoms Bracelet by Valerie Felcetto is a trendy take on the traditional daisy chain. Pip bead petals surround crystal chatons in a subtle, grown-up color palette. You’ll use a variety of stitches to create the blossoms and link them together.

Take 4 Floral Beading Classes at Home
Jean Campbell has been a guest on Beads, Baubles & Jewels many times with me and she always brings exquisitely crafted designs to share. Now, you can take classes in your jammies with Jean Cambell’s Best Beading Workshops: Floral Designs DVD. Follow the instructions to the letter to recreate Jean’s designs or learn her tips and techniques and use those to build amazing floral creations of your own.

If you’re looking for more Springtime inspiration, read Bead Weaving: Start Your Spring with Beaded Leaves and Flowers with Huib Petersen blog. One of my favorite aspects of the article is a picture of an amazing vintage chandelier that’s covered in beaded flowers. So beautiful!
