Yarn Spotlight: Cascade Yarns Boliviana Bulky
After a day spent dealing with the cold temperatures and lingering snow, there’s nothing I like better than to come home and curl up on the couch with a project. Somehow crafting with yarn takes away the the sting of winter wind. No matter what I’m making, I feel warm and fuzzy just because I’m working with yarn. Pretty much any project will do. However, if I’m working a project made with a bulky or super bulky yarn, I tend to feel warmer and fuzzier.
Cascade Yarns has several yarns that hit this mark, and today I want to look at their Boliviana Bulky. New for this fall/winter season, this 100% merino wool hank can be considered the older sibling of the popular Boliviana. This super bulky yarn has a great put-up of 200 grams and 175 yards, and it comes in seventeen colors that are perfect for any winter project.
If you want to create something for your home or something wearable for yourself, Boliviana Bulky is a great choice. Two projects we’ve found that will work well with this yarn are the Spectrum Pouf from Interweave Knits Spring 2016 and the Isosceles Cowl from Crochetscene 2015. Although Boliviana Bulky isn’t the original yarn used in either project, it’s a great substitute.
Whether you take one of the above suggestions or come up with something else, Boliviana Bulky is a great yarn to have on your radar. When you make something with this super bulky beauty, please let us know at #yarnspotlight!
We can’t wait to see what you create!
