Yarn Spotlight: Berroco Ultra Alpaca

Wool and alpaca—what a great mix, not to mention probably one of the warmest fiber combinations in the world. For less-soft wools, adding alpaca tempers it into something more comfortable to wear in cold and cooler seasons.

Berroco has created a 50/50 combination of these fibers for their Ultra Alpaca line of yarns.

This yarn blends equal amounts of Peruvian Highland wool and superfine alpaca. In worsted weight, Ultra Alpaca is available in hanks of 215 yards and 100 grams. (Berroco also offers three other weights in different put-ups.) Explore 72 great solids and heathers (called mixes), plus six tonals!

It has a great hand and will create the crisp stitches both knitters and crocheters crave.

This yarn is such a great option, we’re sure knitters and crocheters alike will want to check it out.

Knitters, look into the Beaded Ski Cardigan from knit.purl Fall/Winter 2015.

For crocheters, try the Beach Hoodie in Interweave Crochet Spring 2016.

After you check out and create something with this yarn, please show us your creation on our social channels using #yarnspotlight.

We can’t wait to see what you decide to stitch!
