WWDD: 5 Hairstyles to Wear with the Budding Headband

Dora Ohrenstein’s Budding Headband from Interweave Crochet Spring 2017 is a favorite this season as the weather starts to warm. It’s not only fun and quick to make, but also versatile. Try out these 5 fantastic hairstyles with your own Budding Headband.

Budding Headband

1.     Down with Curls

I love using this headband to tame my hair on breezy spring days. My go-to hairstyle is just wearing it down because it’s fast and easy. Sometimes, I’ll run a curling iron through it real quick to dress it up a little. The Budding Headband is the perfect accessory to pop on over my normal hairdo.

2.     Side Braid

This one is easy: grab your hair, pull it to the side, and throw it in a messy braid. The longer your hair is, the easier it is to do this. My hair is a little short for the side braid, as you can see in the photo, but you get the idea. The Budding Headband is the perfect thing to make this basic hairdo unique.

3.     Crossed Braids

Try this fun hairdo: part your hair down the center and make a loose braid on each side at the nape of your neck. Pin one braid across to the other side, hiding the messy end beneath the opposite braid; repeat on the other side. If your hair is really long, you can pin it across one side of your head and then fold it back again. If you want more of the braid to show, try making 4 braids instead of 2: 1 on top and 1 on bottom on each side of your head! If your hair is on the shorter side, like mine, you can use the Budding Headband to hold back any pieces that fall out of this braided updo.

4.     French Twist

The French twist is all about glamour, and the Budding Headband’s elegant stitches pair perfectly with this elegant hairstyle. To make this hairdo work, swoop your hair over to one side and pin it up and down the length of your head, then grab that hair and swoop it back to the other side. Roll the ends of your hair under and try to pin it in such a way that the pins won’t show. It’s easier to swoop it back in sections, starting with the hair on top first.

5.     Messy Topknot

It is so easy to throw your hair into a messy topknot bun. It’s also a perfect way to do your hair for exercise, errands, or any day you have a lot to do. This headband can hold back any tendrils that find their way out of your bun.
