Why I’m Going to Craft Daily

Are you ready to fall down a rabbit hole of not just crochet but enough creative projects to fill the next 10 years? I just started my subscription to Craft Daily, and I have so many project plans now! With over 800 hours of instruction from the leaders in their field, Craft Daily is your go-to resource for crochet, knitting, spinning, weaving, sewing, jewelry making, and crafting videos.

Do you want a sneak peak into my Craft Daily video crafting queue? It goes so much further than crochet, but that is, of course, where we have to begin.

Yarn Crafts

Let’s start with 3-D Crochet Amigurumi, Accessories, and Cutest Creatures. One thing you probably don’t know about me is that the jackalope is one of my favorite imaginary creatures. This video features an adorable crocheted jackalope, as well as instructions on how to add 3-D features to your amigurumi creations. Another video in my Craft Daily crochet queue is Crochet Sweater Studio: Designing Garments That Fit Your Shape. Instructor Robyn Chachula has a great eye for designing with motifs, and she brings with her a bag of professional tricks for using those motifs to fit any body type. As a person who has a hard time finding clothes that fit right, I can’t wait to add a few of those tricks to my toolbox.

I also can’t wait to learn how to paint with yarn with Lily Chin as she walks through Mosaic Crochet. Bags, afghans, and even sweaters, I have so many ideas for using her techniques! And to complete my first foray into new yarn skills, I simply have to check out the vast array of knitting videos. I find myself drawn to Knitting New Vintage Lace: Intricate Lace Techniques Updated for Today. The shawl used as an example in the video is just stunning!

Jewelry Crafts

I’ve always wanted to learn how to create my own jewelry, and this is my chance. There are videos for so many different jewelry making techniques! I think I’ll start with Further Explorations in Chain Making. Designed for beginning jewelry artists—that’s me—this video looks like a great way to make my own chains. And Colorful Resin Earrings with Jennie Miller might be a little beyond me right now, but I’m sure Jennie is up to the challenge if I am.

Beading would be a great skill to learn as well, especially for gift making. The Indian Summer Bracelet would make a unique and beautiful gift, and it looks like a lot of fun to make, too. And the Statement Earrings do certainly make a statement. I definitely need to add beading to my skills toolbox.

More Crafts

There are so many more videos I want to watch and projects I want to try. How about some s’mores? Yes, there is a s’more inspired video called Not Your Average S’Mores: 5 Delicious S’More Inspired Desserts! This class needs to go on any chocolate lovers list. There are so many great painting videos, but I’ll probably have to start with No Excuses Watercolor: Painting Animals. With over 2 hours of directions, I have full confidence instructor Gina can teach me how to paint a recognizable blue heron. And there are even great videos on building your business like Building Up Your Brand Webinar with Cheryl Sleboda! A definite must if you have or are thinking about starting up your own brand.
