Introduction

This video tutorial is a follow up to several free patterns using this stitch. It shows step by step how to do the front post treble crochet two together stitches to make the diamond pattern, and where to work your next stitches once you’ve done them.

The example swatch can be increased in size by adding multiples of 4 stitches for a larger project (e.g. cushion cover).
This stitch is used on my diamond trellis basket, zigzag scarf, and diamond cowl patterns.

Materials List

Any stash yarn and matching hook.  Example is worked in worsted/aran weight and uses a 5mm hook.
You may also like to use some stitch markers.

Finished Size

Approx 10cm by 10cm.  You can make a larger sample by adding multiples of 4 sts.

Notes

The Video demonstrates how to work the front post treble crochet two together stitch (fptrc2tog).  It’s a lot easier than it sounds – watch the video and see!
To make a really stiff fabric for use in a basket, you can hold several strands together.
