Swatch Me Saturday #2: Lace Pattern 2

In a continuation of the last Swatch Me session (forgive us for making you wait), this week’s focus is on another of the patterns in the Interweave Crochet Fall 2016 Mixlace Poncho by Denise Lavoie—Lace patt #2 (close-up is shown in the header image on the right). This stitch pattern uses a little more variation than Lace patt #1, and it’s another great option for a project that only needs one stitch pattern.

This time, instead of using a larger yarn, let’s go smaller. If you use a DK or lighter weight yarn, this swatch would make a great coaster. You may need to repeat Rows 2–3 more than indicated (I repeated these rows once more), but it will work, and after making more than one, you’ll have a lovely set of coasters.

For this example, I used Cascade Yarns North Shore. It’s not a cotton yarn, as you might expect for a coaster, but it’s an acrylic, which also works well for a cold beverage coaster, like the one shown in the above header image on the left.

No matter which yarn you choose, please be sure to show us your finished project on our social channels using #swatchmesaturday.
