This week #3, I have a very easy stitch pattern for you from my vintage 1970’s stitch patterns collection. Hope you have just as much fun with this week’s stitch SUMMER Arches as you had with last week’s Crazy Vee.
This SUMMER ARCHES stitch pattern is really simple, once you start you won’t be able to put it down, it is ever so easy, and BEST of all you can change colour in any row.
For the instruction photos I used Hayfield Baby Chunky by Sirdar so you can see the stitches a bit better.
However, my preference for this stitch pattern is Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton DK, (I have included some photos of the cotton samples).
Naturally, for this stitch pattern, you can use any thickness yarn or thread you have to hand.
Not critical for this stitch pattern.
YARN: Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton DK
HOOK: E-4 (3.5mm)
NOTIONS: Scissors, Yarn needle
TENSION/GAUGE: Not critical to this pattern.
If using other yarn please use recommended hook on yarn label.
PATTERN NOTES: Swatch instructions are for one (1) colour. You can change colour every row OR every other row.
This swatch pattern – uses multiples of 4sts (plus 6 for foundation row), ie. 5 x 4 = 20; 20 + 6 = 26.
You need to know how to crochet flat. Colour change is optional. Stitch guide: single crochet, double crochet.
This pattern is written in USA – American Crochet Terms.
