Yarn: Aunt Lydia’s Metallic Crochet Thread size 10 (88% mercerized cotton, 12% metallic; 100 yd [90 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): gold/gold, natural/gold, white/pearl, white/silver, silver/silver; 1 ball each. Aunt Lydia’s Fashion Metallic Crochet Thread size 5 (93% mercerized cotton, 7% metallic; 100 yd [90 m]): gold/gold, natural/gold, copper/copper, natural/pearl, white/silver, silver/silver, black/silver; 1 ball each.
Hook Size: 7 (1.65 mm) steel hook for size10 thread; C/2 (2.75 mm) hook for size 5 thread. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch marker(s); yarn needle; scissors; fabric stiffener; absorbent cloth; blocking surface; rust resistant pins; small paint brush (optional); stiff bristled brush (optional).
Gauge: Size 10 thread snowflake = 3½-4″; size 5 thread snowflake = 6-7″. Gauge is not critical.
