Rudens Scarf

Latvian landscapes of rudens, a Latvian work for “autumn,” inspired this scarf worked in a wavy stitch pattern.  This symmetrical scarf is started in the middle and worked out toward both ends.  The outer leaf pattern is extended at the very end to form a triangular edge that mimics the falling of leaves.

Finished Size: 14″ wide × 60″ long.

Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport (100% wool; 200 yds [183 m]/2 oz [56 g]; CYCA #2): #9308 verve, 3 skeins.

Hook Size: H/8 (5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: St markers (m); yarn needle.

Gauge: 16 dc and 9 rows = 4″ before blocking.
