Beth from New York City asks, “What can I do with fancy ribbon yarns besides make a scarf?” Kim demonstrates the “Ribbon Bolero,” which originally appeared in Interweave Crochet Winter 2007, designed by Marilyn Murphy with Fiesta’s ribbon yarns. This fun bolero has loopy edges and metallic sheen.

Yarn Fiesta Yarns Verandah (90% nylon, 7% rayon, 3% polyester; 128 yd [117 m]/4 oz [113.5 g]): #26109 burnished red, 2 (2, 3, 3) skeins or 2 (3, 3, 4) skeins for added length.
Hook Size L (8 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle; three 1″ buttons; 11⁄2″ cardboard for making fringe.
Gauge 6 (hdc, ch 1) and 7 rows = 4″.
