Rapunzel Scarf Crochet Along
My mother called me the other day. She wanted to share a pinterest board that was chock full of braided scarves (both knitted and crochet). So we each scrolled the collection (her in AZ, me in CO). There were a lot of stunning designs on that board including the Rapunzel Scarf as seen on the cover of wildly popular Interweave Crochet Accessories 2011.
Come to find out, we at Interweave have kits of this project on sale in the Interweave Store…in three different colors! I ordered up a set and I’m organizing a crochet along.
I’ve started a Ravelry group where we can share pictures, help each other and have fun with this beautiful design. We’ll learn how to braid 5 strands of crochet to make a chunky braided scarf.
February 12-26: Order Kit or Pattern (and gather yarn)
February 27 – March 27: Crochet along and Show Off!
Here are the details from the original pattern.
Designer: Kristen Hein Strohm
Finished Size: 5″ wide x 50″ long.
Notions: Yarn Needle.
Yarn: Cascade 220 – 6 skeins.
Here’s how the crochet-along will work:
- Get your kit from the Interweave Store (see links above) or Interweave Crochet Accessories 2011 Digital Issue .
- Introduce yourself on Ravelry and let us know what yarn you are using.
- Post a photo of your finished scarf when you’re done, and feel free to share in progress pictures as well. We all want to see!
Join me on ravelry over the next few weeks. I’m looking forward to crocheting along with you.
