Quick Crochet for the Home
When I first stumbled on Tamara Kelly’s popular blog, MooglyBlog.com, I was instantly smitten with her approachable style and fun, fast, projects. Within a few weeks of following her, I asked Tamara to start working on a book concept, knowing Interweave readers would love her unique style just as much as we do. The idea was to replicate the things everyone loves about Moogly in a book of home décor projects, which we’ve just released chock-full of must-make projects.
Step from the front foyer into the living room, through the dining room and into the kitchen, around the corner to the bathroom on the right, then down the hall to master bedroom and nursery. You’ll find quick and simple projects for each of these rooms in Quick Crochet for the Home. Make a house a home by adding a handmade touch to every corner. As Tamara writes, “It shows that people live and love and cuddle and create in that space. Crocheted pieces add history and thoughtfulness to a room.”
Nothing says cuddle more than a beautiful crocheted throw. Quick Crochet for the Home has three unique blanket projects that work up in a flash. The Faux Cabled Blanket radiates luxury with its neutral color and modern look, making it perfect for the living room.
At the end of a long day, find comfort under the homey Log Cabin Retreat Throw; work it in a palette to suit your master suite. And for stylish little ones, the Chevron Cuddles Blanket livens up a kid’s room with a fun gradient of color.
Not only can these projects add cozy touches to your own house, but they’re also perfect for gift giving. Shhhhh… don’t tell my sister she’s likely to be receiving a pair of Bold Diagonal pillows under the Christmas tree. The corner-to-corner crochet technique is fun to work and the colorblocking perfectly bridges the gap between contemporary and traditional home décor. It’s one of those projects there’s no doubt the recipient will love.
