Puck Tunic

An alternating single crochet and double crochet stitch pattern and waist shaping make this an intermediate pattern. A checkerboard band worked in tapestry crochet adds an eye-catching element to this a-line tunic.

Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fine (80% cotton, 20% merino; 222 yd [203 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): putty (MC), 6 (6, 7, 8, 9) skeins; blue paradise (CC), 1 (1, 2, 2, 3) skeins.
Hook: Sizes F/5 (3.75 mm) and G/6 (4.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle; stitch markers (m).
Gauge: 17 sts and 18 rows = 4″ in pebble patt with smaller hook; 20 sts and 30 rows = 4″ in sc with smaller hook.
