Pattern of the Week: Jade Dress
Nothing signals the arrival of spring like a lacy, breezy dress. I basically live in dresses in the spring and summer—when it’s warm out, I can’t stand wearing anything too clingy or tight. The Jade Dress, designed by Natasha Robarge, is basically my platonic ideal of a warm-weather dress: it’s light, breathable, flattering, and super cute!
It’s darling on its own on warm spring days, but it’s just as cute under a cardi or jean jacket when the temperatures dip at night. Best of all, this dress is also great for summer: crocheted in a lightweight cotton yarn, it will keep you cool even on the hottest days. The fun and flirty sleeves give you a little bit of upper-arm and shoulder coverage without adding bulk. Wear a light slip underneath for full coverage or sew in a lightweight cotton fabric in a similar or contrasting color for an eminently wearable dress. (You could also wear it without a lining as a swimsuit cover-up.)
However you choose to wear it, you’ll evoke spring with this flattering dress, a part of the Botanical Spring collection in Interweave Crochet Spring 2018.
