POW: Fall River Shawl

Interweave Crochet Fall 2017 is packed full of fantastic projects you need for fall! Check out one of our favorites: the Fall River Shawl by Lisa Naskrent. If you were one of the many stitchers who loved Lisa’s Water Lily Shawl from Interweave Crochet Spring 2016, this crochet shawl is for you. This is her newest design, and she thinks it may be her best one yet! (And we do, too!)

The Fall River Shawl uses laceweight yarn from The Fibre Co. Road to China Lace blends alpaca, silk, camel, and a bit of cashmere so it is perfectly soft, cozy, and warm for fall. The pattern incorporates post stiches to give it dimension and texture like no laceweight crochet shawl you’ve seen before! The pattern in the magazine includes large charts for both the body stitch pattern and the edging pattern, so you know which post stitches go where. The shawl is worked from the center point outward. When working it, don’t worry if the lines aren’t straight or the stitches buckle a bit; everything will straighten out when blocking the shawl.

As the weather gets cooler, this is the shawl you need! Wear it around the house, to a formal event, to work, or while you’re working on other crochet projects. This crochet shawl will become an instant classic—it truly showcases the beauty of the craft we all know and love. I’m already thinking of who will like it best as a holiday gift!

Check out the details below. Let us know what you think of this new classic in the comments!

Happy stitching!
