POW: Botanic Summer Vest
Try this week’s POW! The Botanic Summer Vest is the cover project from Interweave Crochet Summer 2017 and a favorite tank to wear this summer. The cropped top is designed by Aiqi Huang and uses beautiful V-stitches in combination with post stitches to create its intricate patterning.
The ribbed waistband gives this top the perfect finished touch. It is added after the body is complete using front and back post stitches. This is the perfect top to practice post stitches if you are new to the technique—and you’ll have something so beautiful to wear once it’s done!
This project uses a worsted-weight yarn and is pretty small in terms of the amount of stitching you have to do. This is the perfect top to work up fast this summer and wear into the fall—perhaps with a few more layers on underneath.
Any yarn would look fantastic with this project, but Universal Yarn’s Cotton Supreme Splash seems especially fitting. It comes in very trendy colors, and its subtle color changes suit the texture of this top very nicely. The yarn almost has a splashed or speckled look to it—a yarn trend we are loving!
This cropped vest features a V-neck, highly textured stitches, and a ribbed waistband. Try it with shorts or a flowy skirt for a breezy summer look.
