pom pom evolution

I have hundreds of left over yarn balls that I save for rainy days and make them into pom poms.  Someday I will buy a nifty pom pom maker – I hear they are terrific.  But for now, I just wrap the yarn around two or three fingers or use the cardboard method.  The secret to a puffy pom pom is in the trimming.  All these pom poms began the same way.  If your pom poms seem loose and floppy…trim some more and roll around in your hands and trim some more.  I also have bags of precut yarn for latch hooking that for some reason we lost the canvas or instructions and I hate to throw anything away.  The yarn is precut so it is fairly easy to tie them around the middle and trim into pom poms.
