Jewelry Highlights the Lotus Sweater

The Lotus Sweater by Megan Granholm (at right) has continued to be one of our most popular patterns. I plan on making my own Lotus Sweater and while contemplating what color to work it in, I started daydreaming about what I would wear with it. More importantly, what jewelry could I use to highlight the delicate lace.

I turned to my favorite jewelry magazine Jewelry Stringing-because if I can make my sweater I can make my jewelry too. There were so many possibility. The only question is what is your style? Here are some of my favorites.

The chunky stones of the Fearless Facets necklace by Sandi Warner are eye-catching. I love the blend of neutral colors and copper accents, meaning I could wear this necklace with everything. And I would! The large stones and simple construction are quick and easy enough for me.

I'm not sure which I love more from the Cycling Around set by Michelle Mach, the necklace or the earrings. Springs, rings, and parts of a bicycle chain were used to create this innovative design. I love the idea of repurposing bicycle parts!
Easily personalized, A Little Love by Kara Docheff is young and fun. The delicate flowers are beautiful, but I could see this necklace with leaves, tiny animals, or other little figures that reflect your personality. The flowers are cut out of linen, so the possibilities are endless.

Stackable bracelets are enjoying resurgence in popularity, and it's easy to make your own. The Triple Tied Up bracelets by Ashleigh Becker immediately caught my attention. Embroidery floss in a variety of colors is wrapped around craft cord to create simple bracelets. This would be a great project for some of my left over yarn and thread as well.

I think I may have to briefly set my hook and yarn down and whip up a few pieces of jewelry to compliment my crochet. The projects in Jewelry Stringing are easy enough for a beginner like me and are the perfect diversion during the warmest weeks of the summer. Best wishes,
