Interweave Crochet Fall 2018: Suave Sweater
My wardrobe mostly consists of classic, timeless pieces, but I’ve always been drawn to interesting silhouettes and textures, to designs that are a little unconventional. So when I was looking for designs to add to my fall crochet queue, the Suave Sweater from Interweave Crochet Fall 2018 stood out to me—it’s a fairly simple, classic sweater with an interesting twist!
This lovely sweater has clean lines and crisp stitchwork that highlight its best feature: its cropped length. Cropped tops are all the rage right now, and this sweater capitalizes on the trend in the best ways. Even if you think crop tops aren’t for you, I urge you to give it a try! Wear it over a long shirt—I think a crisp white button-down would be perfect—for an of-the-moment look that still keeps you covered. If you’re feeling more adventurous, pair it with an ultra-trendy high-waisted skirt or pants. And if you love the stitch and silhouette but just can’t do crop tops, you can always add length at the bottom.
Center single crochet, also called waistcoat stitch, creates this sweater’s chunky texture. It’s worked in continuous rounds from the top down, starting with the circular yoke that transitions into raglan shaping. The GGH Aspen yarn (affiliate link), a wool-acrylic blend, provides great stitch definition and really makes this sweater’s texture pop.
Get a jump on the crop-top trend with the Suave Sweater! I promise you’ll enjoy going out on a fashion limb.
