Interweave Crochet Fall 2018: Cultivated Pullover

No matter how you divide crochet into categories, one is sure to be garments. As with all new things, you must begin somewhere, and I have the perfect beginner garment for you: the Cultivated Pullover in Interweave Crochet Fall 2018.

Why is this garment so great for beginners? Not only can it be worked in a range of sizes, it also uses a nice yarn. Whether you like your garments oversized or not, with finished sizes ranging from 39” to 55” for the bust circumference, there’s a finished size to fit you. As far as yarn goes, this sweater—crocheted using Jagger Spun Green Line—won’t break your budget.

In case you’re not quite sold, here are a couple more reasons. Ashlyn Holmes designed this pullover using two hallmarks of a beginner-friendly design: simple stitches and a simple construction. The stitches are a mix of half double crochet and single crochet, and the pieces are made up of almost all rectangles. When making this project, you’ll create four rectangles: two identical rectangles front and back, and two identical rectangles for the sleeves.

After assembling all the pieces, you work a neck edging, which will serve as the collar, and you’re done!
