Introduction
“I am Iron Man.”

What’s Captain America without his trusty buddy, Iron Man? With his fluffy arc rector and oversized head, Iron Man is off to defend the world from corporate crime! (and maybe McDonald’s too.)


Materials List
2.75mm hook

Acrylic yarn in red, yellow, and white (Caron Simply Soft’s Harvest Red, a bargain bin yellow (something like RHSS), and Red Heart Soft’s White was used.)

Tapestry needle

Polyester Fiberfill

Scissors

Stitch Markers (Optional but highly recommended)

Important Info:

All rounds are worked continuously.

Eyes:

With white yarn:

Ch10.

Row 1: Turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in every other ch. (9)

Row 2: Ch1, turn. Sc in every st. (9)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Head

With red yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in the magic ring. (6)

Round 2: *Inc* around. (12)

Round 3: *Inc* around. (24)

Round 4: *Inc, sc in next 3 st* around. (30)

Round 5: sc in next 11 st, change to yellow, sc in next 2 st, change to red, sc in next 4 st, change to yellow, sc in next 2 st, change to red, sc in next 11 st. [11/2/4/2/11] (30) (This format will be used for the rest of the rows requiring mid-row colour changes. Green text represents yellow, since yellow text is hard to read on this background.)

Round 6: [11/3/3/3/10] (30)

Round 7: [11/4/2/4/9] (30)

Round 8: [11/10/9] (30)

Backstitch eyes to wrong side of head using yellow yarn. The strip should cover both eyeholes.

Start tying ends in the wrong side.

Stuff firmly.

Fasten off.

Body and Legs

Leg 1:

Using red yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc in Magic Ring. (6)

Round 2: *sc* around. (6)

Round 3: Jogless colour change to yellow in next st. *sc* around. (6)

Round 4: [inc, 1/inc/1, inc/1] (9)

Round 5: [1/2/3/1/2] (9)

Round 6: *sc* around. (9)

Fasten off, leave a long end for sewing.

Leg 2 and Body:

Same as Leg 1 but do not fasten off.

Round 7: sc in next 4 st, sc in next 9 st of Leg 1, sc in remaining 5 st of Leg 2. (18)

Ensure that both legs are facing the front correctly. If not, change the position of the first sc in Leg 1 until they are doing so.

Use the long end of Leg 1 to tighten up any gaps between the two legs.

Round 8-15: *sc* around. (18)

Round 16: *sc, inv dec* around. (12)

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. Do not stuff until you have attached the core to the body.

Arm (Make 2)

With red yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in the Magic Ring. (6)

Round 2: *sc* around. (6)

Round 3-4: Change colour to yellow. [3/3] (6)

Round 5: *sc* around. (6) (This round should be done in red, if the colour changes were done correctly.)

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing.

Arc Rector

Using white yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in the Magic Ring. (6)

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing.

Assembly

Backstitch Arc Rector to upper center of body.
Stuff body with polyester fiberfill.
Sew body to head.
Sew arms to body.
