The Page Turns at Interweave Crochet
New Year, New Role, New Goals
Interweave has experienced many transitions in recent years–some good and some less so—but great changes have been happening since I started here. We have been packing our team full of creative, passionate people who are committed to crafting. We have also launched a new website totally devoted to bringing you the creative content, tutorials, and crafty news you love, because we love that stuff too and can’t wait to share it with you! This is truly an exciting time to be part of Interweave!
As 2016 draws to a close, I find myself looking back on my first (almost) year here at Interweave as assistant editor for Knitscene and Love of Knitting. I’ve learned a lot in that small amount of time, and I still recognize every day how lucky I am to be here and do the work that I do.
The new year is bringing a new role for me. I cannot wait to jump into my new job as associate editor for Interweave Crochet, a magazine that has brought me so much inspiration and joy through the years. In this new role, I have a number of goals I want to accomplish:
1. I want to keep you inspired.
There is no better feeling than opening up your newest crochet magazine, glancing through the pages, and wanting to start stitching right that minute. When projects, yarn, and techniques inspire you, it is a truly magical feeling. I hope that some part of every issue of Interweave Crochet inspires that kind of excitement within you.
2. I’m going to be a good listener.
If we’re not inspiring you, I want you to tell me what will. Whether you want to see more of a designer you love, more men’s patterns, more sweaters, or more accessories, let me know—we want to make a magazine you will love.
3. I will crochet every day.
You might be able to relate to this. Crocheting keeps me centered. It is when I do my best thinking, and it is when I get all of my ideas. I’m going to crochet every day, and I hope you will, too!
There are so many exciting things to come in 2017. I can’t wait to share it with you!
Happy stitching to you and a very merry 2017!
