Some readers have had difficulty with the stitch counts for the body section and armhole shaping. These instructions have been re-worded to increase clarity (below). Sections in boldface are corrections to the original text and not simply new wording.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, *sc in first three sc of next arch, (hdc, dc) in next sc, ch 1, (dc, hdc) in next sc, sc in each of next 3 sc (first arch completed), [ch 5, sk first, second, third, and fourth sc of next arch, sl st in sp bet 4th and 5th sc of arch, ch 5, sk fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth sc of arch]; rep from * 3 more times, sl st in first sc to join—4 arched “petals” and 8 ch-5 lps.
Fasten off CC; join MC at base of any ch-5 lp just before beg of arched petal.
Rnd 9: With MC, ch 1, *sc in each of next 5 sts up one side of petal, ch 3, sk ch-1 sp, sc in each of next 5 sts down other side of petal, [ch 5, sl st in ch-5 sp] twice, ch 5, rep from * 3 more times, sl st in first sc to join—4 petals and 12 ch-5 lps.
Rnd 10: Sl st backwards to center of last ch-5 lp made on previous rnd, ch 5, *sk next 4 sc, sl st in next sc, ch 5, sk ch-3 lp, sl st in next sc, [ch 5, sl st in ch-5 lp] three times, ch 5; rep from * three more times, sl st in center of same ch-5 lp as beg sl sts—20 ch-5 lps.
Rnd 11: Sl st to center of first ch-5 lp of previous rnd, [ch 6, sl st in next ch-5 lp] 20 times, sl st in first ch of beg ch-6—20 ch-6 lps.
Rnd 12: Sl st to center of first ch-6 lp of previous rnd, *[ch 8, sl st in ch-6 lp] twice, ch 8, sk 1 ch-6 lp, sl st in next ch-6 lp, ch 8, sl st in next ch-6 lp; rep from * 3 more times, sl st in first ch of beg ch-8 lp—16 ch-8 lps.
Fasten off MC; join CC.
Rnd 13: With CC, work 8 sc in each ch-8 lp, sl st in first sc to join—128 sc.
Rnd 14: Ch 1, *sc in each of first 3 sc of next lp, [hdc, dc] in next sc, ch 1, [dc, hdc] in next sc, sc in each of last 3 sc of lp (first arched petal made), ch 5, sk first 4 sc of next lp, sl st bet 4th and 5th sc (center of lp), ch 5, sk last 4 sc of lp; rep from * 7 more times, sl st in first sc to join—8 arched petals and 16 ch-5 lps.
Fasten off CC; join MC.
Rnd 15-17: With MC, work as for Rnds 9-11, rep from * 8 times around—8 arched petals and 24 ch–5 lps at the end of Rnd 15; 40 ch-5 lps at the end of Rnd 16; 40 ch-6 lps at the end of Rnd 17.
Rnd 18: With MC, sl st to center of first ch-6 lp of previous rnd, [ch 6, sl st in ch-6 lp] 40 times, sl st in first ch of beg ch-8 to join—40 ch-6 lps.
Rnds 19-21 (23, 25): Rep Rnd 18 three (five, seven) more times.
Rnd 22 (24, 26): Work as for Rnd 12, rep from * 8 times around—32 ch-8 lps.
Fasten off MC; join CC. Armhole shaping:
Rnd 1: With CC, work 8 sc in each ch-8 lp around, sl st in first sc to join—256 sc.

The instructions for joining strips A through E are incorrect. The correct procedure is as follows:
Sl st in first lp of upper strip, *[ch 2, sc in next lp on opposite strip] 6 times, ch 2, sc in next 2-lp group on opposite (lower) strip, ch 2, sc in next lp on opposite strip; rep from * across, ending [ch 2, sc in next lp on opposite strip] 6 times, ch 2, sc in next 2-lp group on opposite strip. Fasten off. (Note: You will be “increasing” 5 loops on the lower strip for every 4 loops taken on the upper strip.)
