Pattern of the Week: Mermaid’s Net Top

This practical top is embellished at the hem with a simplified version of freeform Romanian point lace. The needlepoint lace evokes the feeling of a mystical mermaid’s net.

YARN DMC Natura Just Cotton Medium Denim (affiliate link) (100% cotton; 82 yd [75 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #06 eggplant (MC), 9 (9, 10, 10, 11) balls. DMC Pearl Cotton Balls Size 12 (100% cotton; 131 yd [120 m]/0.35 oz [10 g] ): #814 dark garnet (CC), 1 ball.

HOOK Size G/6 (4.25 mm) (affiliate link). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
